Lynne Forsman, Hospitality & Green Meetings Specialist

Lynne Forsman Lynne Forsman has over 25 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience in the hospitality industry. Lynne’s background begins with her B.S. in Hospitality Tourism Management from Purdue University and her experience includes hotel sales with Marriott, meeting and incentive planning, and ownership of Nautical Destinations, a group yacht charter and events company on the Chesapeake Bay. Her hospitality and tourism management experience focuses on sales, communication, and promotion of hospitality greening related ventures. Laura Wood Habr, Restaurants & Hospitality Green Advisor

Laura Wood Habr Laura Wood Habr, is a 20 year veteran of the hospitality and restaurant business and has a high level of knowledge of sustainable and recyclable programs and products. She assists clients in meeting green certification guidelines as well as improving their environmental impact through selecting and using environmentally-friendly products and services. As owner of the first certified Virginia Green restaurant in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Virginia Green program, her Croc’s 19th Street Bistro bears her trademarked term, “eco bistro.” Laura’s expertise is in facilitating the greening of restaurants from the building to the kitchen to the customer experience and has helped create a guideline that other restaurant and facility owners can follow to achieve their own green results. Chef Patrick Evans-Hylton

Patrick Evans-Hylton is a Johnson & Wales-trained chef with more than 15 years experience in the food and beverage industry including restaurant management, catering operations, food media (magazine, newspaper, books, magazine, radio, and television), and food education.

Patrick is a proponent of sustainable and seasonal food and incorporating it on menus, spiced with a dose of education for the customer. He founded and is leader of the Hampton Roads chapter of Slow Food, which advocates the Farm-To-Fork concept of food production and consumption, and leads culinary tours of regional foodsheds seeking out locally-sourced ingredients from the land and from the sea.

His inroads in the agriculture and aquaculture community works hand-in-hand with his contacts in the culinary field through his work as a journalist, active member of such groups as the American Culinary Federation and International Association of Culinary Professionals, and involvement as a board member and student mentor at the Culinary Institute of Virginia as well as committee member of the Green Committee of the City of Virginia Beach Resort Advisory Commission.
