Tom Griffin is the Director and Co-Founder of Greener Results, the consulting Division of Air Cycle Corporation in Lisle, IL. In his 18-year career in Virginia state government, Tom developed and ran a wide array of voluntary, pollution prevention-based programs that focused on cost savings and public recognition. Tom has distinguished himself as an expert in helping businesses develop efficient and practical environmental programs that are focused on improved performance and cost-savings. Furthermore, Tom believes that the provision of public recognition for environmental achievements is critical to achieving “greener results.”

Tom’s environmental career has provided him with a wide breadth of knowledge in most every environmental topic. His positions in resource management and NEPA review instilled a strong understanding of state and federal regulatory processes. Tom worked for more than 12 years for Virginia DEQ’s Office of Pollution Prevention, assisting businesses directly through assessments, research, and the development and promotion of state and federal voluntary programs.

Amber Foster

Amber has extensive experience in coordinating multi-partner projects related to watershed protection, focusing on the reduction of local environmental impacts during the development process. Her areas of technical expertise include watershed management planning, analysis of local codes and ordinances, GIS mapping, grant writing, and capacity building for local watershed organizations. Amber has been trained in various field methods and has extensive project management experience. 

In addition to serving as a sustainability and conservation specialist with Greener Results, she works with Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Training Center to schedule, advertise, and implement multiple courses focused on “green” jobs and associated activities. She is also a Team Advisor for the Virginia Beach SPCA’s Green Team and works with them to implement recommendations from a Green Assessment that was conducted in Spring/Summer 2009. Amber identifies local vendors and services that meet the needs of the organization, reviews “green” project proposals, and analyzes return on investment scenarios.

Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Roanoke College and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lynne Forsman

Lynne Forsman has over 25 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience in the hospitality industry. She is the founder of Green Drinks Annapolis/Annapolis Green, and is a marketing and sales consultant with eCruisers, 100 percent electric shuttles that serve as "Advertising that Moves People." Her background ranges from hotel sales, meeting and incentive planning, and ownership of Nautical Destinations, a group yacht charter and events company on the Chesapeake Bay. She brings to Greener Results hospitality and tourism management experience focused on sales, communication, and promotion of hospitality greening related ventures. Lynne is integral in assisting clients with the creation of internal meetings and programs that focus on green initiatives. She also manages grassroots efforts to green the hospitality industry and the larger business community in the Annapolis, Maryland, region and has received various awards and distinctions for her efforts.

Laura Wood Habr

Laura Wood Habr, is a 20 year veteran of the hospitality and restaurant business, and has also worked as an interior designer for nearly a decade. Laura blends these experiences into a unique greening approach that combines practical restaurant knowledge with a flair for style and marketability. Laura’s knowledge of sustainable and recyclable programs and products allows her to provide clients with consulting services that enable them to meet green certification guidelines as well as improve their environmental impact through selecting and using environmentally-friendly products and services.

In 2007, Laura’s Virginia Beach restaurant, Croc’s 19th Street Bistro, became the first certified Virginia Green restaurant in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Virginia Green program and bears her trademarked term, “eco bistro.” She facilitated the greening of her restaurant from the building to the kitchen to the customer experience and has created a guideline that other restaurant and facility owners can follow to achieve their own green results. In addition to greening her own restaurant, Laura has led many efforts throughout the Virginia Beach region to make it a green destination, a designation the city received in the summer of 2008. Laura is an advocate for integrating sustainable practices into the hospitality industry and holds several roles that support her efforts. She sits on the Conserve Action Council of the National Restaurant Association, founded the Green Jobs Academy and has developed courses and curriculum for certification classes at the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Campus, and established the local Virginia Beach Green Drinks chapter. She was also a founding member of the Old Beach Farmer’s Market, a certified Virginia Green, locally food-based and organic farmer’s market that her restaurant parking lot hosts each Saturday to promote the locavore movement.

Chuck Mason of Gannett Fleming, Inc. has worked in the environmental consulting industry for over 18 years. Most of his experience has been in developing, implementing, and auditing effective environmental compliance and EMS programs for clients in a variety of industries throughout the U.S. and Europe. Recently, part of this experience includes overseeing the development of unique web-based applications designed to assist in implementing EMS and performance tracking programs. He holds a B.S. from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the College of William and Mary, and is also an “Environmental Principal Auditor” through RABQSA International.
